The Big Idea:
1. The first thing Israel has to do in conquering the Promised Land is cross the swollen Jordan river.
They must have asked, “How can we ever cross this river?” Isn’t that the question we ask the most? When
we have asked God to give us direction, there are times when we feel his leading only to face –
figuratively – a lot of water and he calls us to step out in faith. Like Israel, we ask how will God do this
one?
2. How many times and it way ways has God led us to the very brink of something huge, something
deep? How did you feel? Did you make the leap or did you back away?
